    demonstrated excellence in evaluating and reporting
    on structural and mechanical conditions observed in
    historic buildings.

Have an understanding of historic preservation
    standards.

Encourage historic home buyers & owners to
    preserve the character of historic properties.

Donate their time and knowledge to non-profit
    historic preservation projects.
The HBIA is also a collective resource for it's members to increase their knowledge of historic building preservation and improve inspection skills.
